There's a new place to camp on Long Island.
For the first time in nearly a decade, you can camp at Heckscher State Park.
The East Islip campground has a renovated bathhouse with hot showers, a new welcome center, new grills and water fountains designed for the disabled.
Camping starts July 4 and is open to tents, trailers and recreational vehicles, but there are also new cottages available to rent.
Reservations can be made
online.
