Police say a husband has pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife inside her Herricks home.

Police say Asif Qureshi killed Allena Asif at her home on Larch Drive last Friday. The killing happened about a week after she served him with divorce papers.

Asif was suffocated by an unknown chemical substance and had burns on her face, according to police.

Qureshi, 53, of Queens, had one prior domestic violence arrest with four other incidents reported.

Police say Quereshi began stalking Asif after the papers were served.

News 12 has been told Asif lived at the home with her three kids, ages 18, 14 and 7.
