Queens man arraigned in a domestic violence case against a Nassau County woman

Philip Mais is charged with menacing, burglary, criminal mischief, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, as well as several other charges.

Police say Phillip Mais, of Jamaica, Queens, is accused of violently attacking a Nassau County woman on two separate occasions.
Officials say Mais got into an argument with the victim on Aug. 6 and grabbed her by the throat. Police say the defendant pointed a gun at the victim and then entered her Roosevelt home destroying some of her belongings.
Authorities say in June, Mas punched the victim twice in the face during a verbal dispute. They say he also prevented her from calling 911 by destroying her cellphone.
Mais is charged with menacing, burglary, criminal mischief, assault, criminal obstruction of breathing, as well as several other charges.
He is being held on $75,000 bail. His next court appearance is schedule for Aug. 12.
