The mental health awareness day was started in 2010 by
sisters Brooke and Jaimie DiPalma to honor their father taken by suicide.
An
anti-bullying event was held last year at the girls’ alma mater – West Islip High School.
Brooke and
Jamie are set to host a similar event today at Beach Street Middle
School.
