A second hotel could be coming to the area around the Roosevelt Field Mall.
The plan is to build a 170-room AC Hotel by Marriott across from the Macy's.
The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) voted unanimously to begin negotiations with the development group and the mall owner over tax breaks associated with the proposed project.
The hotel would cost over $75 million to build and would open in 2026.
A Residence Inn opened near the mall four years ago.
