Police arrested a suspended Manorhaven priest Wednesday on sexual abuse charges.
Father Gerald Twomey is being accused of forcibly touching a victim described only as an adult male. Twomey had previously been put on administrative leave after allegations he abused a 10-year-old boy surfaced.
Larry Flowers, Twomey's attorney, says his client is not guilty of the charges. He refused to comment on the older allegations, however.
"Father Twomey is completely innocent, and he looks forward to fighting these false allegations," said Flowers.
The incident allegedly happened last March in a private home while Twomey was still serving as pastor of Our Lady of Fatima in Manhorhaven.
The child abuse allegations were never prosecuted as they were reported after the statute of limitations.
Twomey is due back in court May 1.
