The second annual Pride on the Beach celebration is in full swing this weekend, celebrating the LGBT community.
Long Island Pride took over a section of the beach Saturday with a party complete with a DJ and dancing. Other events included a fashion show on the beach and a pet parade.
Organizers say that the battle for LGBT rights isn't over and the community's visibility on Long Island is very important.
"There's still a fight that we have for equality and justice and it's important we all do that together as a united community,” said David Kilmnick, the CEO of the LGBT Network.
The Pride on the Beach Parade is set for Sunday at noon along Broadway.
