Cannabis dispensaries on Long Island continue to be approved in the towns that opted into the state plan to legalize them. It's still controversial though. That's why the Town of Brookhaven has been careful to only approve legal dispensaries in industrial zones away from homes.

But recently, the state Cannabis Control Board approved an application for a dispensary in Lake Ronkonkoma over objection from the town – causing headaches for neighbors, Supervisor Dan Panico and other town leaders.

Panico joined the show to discuss the issue and other topics important to Long Islanders.

Also, living on Long Island only seems to be getting more expensive every year, with most towns and villages having to steadily increase their taxes. Freeport residents have been able to rest easy for over a decade, but will the village have to follow suit this upcoming year?
