A power outage Friday night forced the cancellation of Sal "The Voice" Valentinetti's sold-out performance at the NYCB Theatre at Westbury.
PSEG says strong winds caused wires to come down outside the theater around 8:25 p.m. It shut down power at the theater and for around 800 nearby customers. The utility says power was fully restored just before 9 p.m.
Nassau police say they evacuated the theater over safety concerns.
Concertgoes say Valentinetti was given a megaphone to perform with when the power went out, but everyone was evacuated a short time later.
