A manhunt is underway for a person who shot a man in Poughkeepsie.

City police say a 34-year-old man was shot near 444 Main St. around 4:30 a.m. Saturday. When officers arrived, they began life-saving measures after seeing his injuries were life-threatening.

The man was then taken to a local hospital. Police have not released his latest condition.

Meanwhile, a portion of Main Street was closed for hours as investigators inspected the area for evidence.
