Potholes created by snow and ice are making their return to Long Island roads.
News 12 was at one large pothole on Lakeland Avenue southbound off of Sunrise Highway Friday and noticed a lot of drivers going around it.
Emergency crews were also on the Northern State Parkway to help a disabled car and potholes near Manetto Hill Road.
However, some hit potholes full on at full speed, causing at least one car to get a flat tire.
Westbury resident Travis Palagonia says he got a flat tire coming down East Old County Road in Hicksville.
"I can't afford to spend that much money every single day on new tires," Palagonia says. "It's ridiculous, something has to be done."
News 12 has also heard complaints from drivers about potholes on the Northern State Parkway and the Long Island Expressway.
News 12 did notice some pothole repair crews along the LIE early Friday.
Robert Sinclair with AAA says having a rail-freight tunnel in the area is making things worse.
"About 95% of freight that comes to our area comes via truck," Sinclair says. "A truck beats the daylights out of a road. One truck does the damage of 20,000 cars."
He says hopefully the billions of dollars from the infrastructure bill can help get the roads in better condition.
Sonny Dinler owns Sonny's Auto Repair in Bethpage and says people need to report potholes to the state, county and towns.
"They should call or put something so at least, make sure other people don't get stuck while they're trying to go to work," Dinler says.
Anyone who wants to report a pothole, you can call 311 in Suffolk County. In Nassau, residents can use the Your Nassau app or call 516-571-9600.
Anyone wanting to report potholes on state roads can call 1-800-POTHOLE.
