A teacher at Port Jefferson High School was arrested on drug charges.
Police say 36-year-old Kevin Magrane, of Rocky Point, was in possession of Xanax and Cialas medications without proper prescriptions. Police also found marijuana on Magrane. The arrest came after police were notified of a man in a purple car that was seen acting suspiciously at a school bus stop several days during the week. When officers saw this vehicle in Rocky Point, they stopped Magrane and found the drugs.
Magrane has not been charged with selling drugs to kids. He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Magrane was arraigned Friday and released on his own recognizance.
