The restaurant is known for its fun beachfront atmosphere, and has announced on its social media pages they are no longer in business.
The owner of Pops wrote in part, "In 2022 Pop's Seafood Shack & Grill committed its properties along Railroad Place to become part of the Empire Wind Renewable Energy Project Off The Coast of Long Island. This commitment made the summer of 2022 their final season. "
