A woman stole from a Hewlett 7-Eleven and dragged a store employee with her car, according to Nassau County police.
The incident happened about nine months ago, but investigators released surveillance footage of it Thursday, hoping to catch the culprit.
News 12 spoke with the 7-Eleven's owner, Ali Ceylan, by phone. He says the woman started grabbing doughnuts and muffins -- eating half of them and putting the rest on the counter. He says she stuffed something into her pocket and left the store. An employee then followed her.
The employee says the woman threw a Bluetooth speaker out of the car and hit the gas. Surveillance video shows the car going in reverse, dragging the employee. The car then takes off.
Ceylan says he appreciates the bravery, but adds that he warns his employees not to follow people outside.
The employee suffered minor injuries.
