Police say a woman has been arrested for driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a pedestrian in Copiague.
According to police, Annmarie Donadeo, 50, was driving on Hawkins Boulevard when she hit a parked car that pinned a man between another parked car.  The incident happened at 9 p.m. Tuesday.
Travis Kernard, 28, was transported to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
Police say responding police officers observed Donadeo in an intoxicated condition and placed her in custody.
A neighbor who says the victim was a friend of her son, heard the crash and figured the commotion was fireworks.
"I was in my kitchen, I heard a blast, I thought it was fireworks. I ran out to see if everyone was OK,” says the neighbor. “The person with the driver said she was okay.”
The neighbor tells News 12 when she went to check out the damage is when she realized what really happened.
“When I came, I just saw him. He was pinned right between the two cars, really not a good sight...I would never want to experience this on my own. He was good friends with my son," says the neighbor.
Donadeo is charged with DWI and was taken to court in Central Islip Wednesday to go before a judge.
Bail was set at $25,000, though it is unclear if Donadeo made bail.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Suffolk Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
