A Mastic Beach pleaded not guilty Friday after allegedly using his minivan to plow into two men he was pursuing after they apparently stole his brother's dirt bike, killing both of them.

The crash happened on Montauk Highway near Doane Avenue in Bellport on Thursday.

Christopher Bouchard, 27, was charged with reckless endangerment in the first degree after police say he caused the crash. Prosecutors say they are considering upgraded charges.

Suffolk Police Commissioner Tim Sini confirmed that Bouchard had reported a stolen dirt bike earlier in the day. Police believe when he spotted the two young men, he pursued them.

Suffolk police identified the two victims as 19-year-old Keenan King, of Shirley, and 20-year-old Anthony Holmes-Garriques, of North Bellport. 

The owner of the bike, who was a passenger in the minivan, Brian Bouchard, of Mastic Beach, was not injured.

Holmes-Garriquez's mother, Lina, screamed out in anger after Friday's court appearance. 

"They killed him…He didn't deserve to die this way," she said. "He was going to attend college. I want everything upgraded. I've got to bury my son."
Demetrius Lee, who says he witnessed the incident, says the brothers were trying to get away after the crash.

"They didn't care at all. Lucky that we came out of the house and stopped them," he told News 12. 

Defense attorney John Halvorsen called the incident an "absolute tragedy," but says his client never intended to hurt anyone. 

Bouchard is being held on $200,000 cash or $400,000 bond and is due back in court on June 28.
