14h agoPolice say they have arrested a man who sent an officer to the hospital in Uniondale.
Detectives say it started when a woman flagged down officers, claiming she saw a man enter her property near Cedar Street and California Avenue and ride off on her bike.
An officer found the suspect on Maple Avenue. Police say he became violent and injured an officer when they tried to arrest him.
Police identified the suspect as Benjamin Francis, 34, from Uniondale.
Police discovered he had four open warrants from 2021.
Francis is facing several charges, including assault and criminal trespassing.
The injured officer was sent to the hospital, and no one else was hurt.
