A teenager was shot in the shoulder in Central Islip Wednesday, police say.

Suffolk County police say the 16-year-old victim was sitting in the backseat of a car near the intersection of Oakland and Evergreen avenues around noon when he was struck.

Police say the shooting followed a fight between two groups of teens.

No arrests have been made.
