Suffolk police say they are searching for five people who damaged a fence in East Northport last month.
In video released to the public, police say the people in the video participated in the social media challenge known as "The Kool-Aid Man." That is when they slammed through a fence on Scholar Court near Fifth Avenue on March 18.
This isn't the first time a Long Island homeowner has been a victim of the TikTok challenge. In February, six boys ran through a fence in Centereach.
After further investigation, police say there were at least two other instances where some of the suspects damaged fences in Centereach and Selden.
The group was caught and are now facing charges including several counts of criminal mischief.
"It's stupidity, you do stupid things when you're young, but they weren't that young, they had a car," said Tom DiPietro. "But not destroying property, it's not the right thing to do."
Police are offering a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest.
Anyone with information is asked to call Suffolk County Crimestoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
