Police are probing a robbery at a pharmacy in Montclair.
Patrol was dispatched around 3:16 a.m. Tuesday to Grove Pharmacy on a report of an activated audible alarm.
Police say the front door had been shattered. The cash trays had been removed from the registers, and cash was observed on the floor beneath the registers. A cabinet containing prescription drugs also appeared to have been tampered with. A large quantity of pills was removed.
Surveillance video shows a dark-colored vehicle travelling north on Grove Street pull up in front of the pharmacy. Police say three subjects exited the vehicle. One used a sledgehammer to make entry into the business. Once inside, the subjects used a crowbar to make entry into the registers and drug cabinet. They are then seen fleeing the store and enter the awaiting vehicle, which makes a U-Turn and heads south on Grove Street.
It’s the second time this year the pharmacy has been broken into. The first time was in March. Authorities say they have surveillance video of the incident and are still searching for a suspect.
