Police: Suspects rob man after hitting hit with bat in Riverhead

A man was assaulted with a bat during a robbery Friday night in Riverhead, police say.

A man was assaulted with a bat during a robbery Friday night in Riverhead, police say.
The incident happened around 9 p.m. near Railroad Avenue between Griffing and Roanoke avenues.
Police say the victim was walking home when he was approached by three men, one who hit him in the face with a metal baseball bat.
News 12 is told that victim's wallet was stolen and the suspects fled.
