Police: Suspect wanted in fatal Bay Shore hit-and-run

Detectives believe the vehicle involved is a small to mid-sized dark-colored SUV.

A man was fatally struck by a vehicle along the St. Patrick’s Day parade route early Saturday morning in Bay Shore, according to Suffolk police.

Authorities say it happened at 2:10 a.m. as he crossed the intersection of Main Street and Shore Lane. The driver then sped off.

Detectives believe the vehicle involved is a small to mid-sized dark-colored SUV.

Parade organizers say the event will continue as planned.
