Police are asking for the public’s help locating a man who robbed a gas station and attacked an employee Friday in Uniondale.
Detectives say the suspect’s card was declined when he tried paying for a drink and two packs of cigarettes around 2 a.m. at the Sunoco on Hempstead Turnpike.
He allegedly attempted to leave with the unpaid items but was stopped by a 65-year-old employee.
Police say the suspect punched the employee in the face and chest before pushing him to the ground and repeatedly kicking him.
The suspect then took the two items and fled southbound on Cunningham Avenue.
Authorities say the employee was treated by medics at the scene.
Anyone with information is urged to contact the Nassau County Police Department 1st Squad at (516)-573-6153.
