Hempstead police confirm to News 12 Long Island that shots were fired this afternoon on Front Street.
According to police, a 21-year-old man was walking with his girlfriend and 1-year-old child when someone came out from between two apartment buildings and fired shots.
Police say approximately three to four shots were fired. 
No one was hurt or hit during the incident.
According to police, a bullet went into a law office nearby and struck at least one parked car.
Police say they believe the people were the intended target, but there is an ongoing investigation.
The shooter allegedly took off into a waiting car.
