Police in Hempstead are searching for clues three days after a newborn baby was found dead in the street.
Police say it appears the baby was thrown from a car window on Sunset Drive and was run over several times before the remains were discovered by neighbor Earl Washington as he walked his dog. Officials say the body is in such bad condition that sex and race have yet to be determined.
Officials say a hero's funeral will be held for the child in about two weeks. Washington will provide a first name to the baby, who will be given the last name Hope.
