A Rockville Centre man has been arrested for allegedly carrying an illegal gun Sunday evening at Eisenhower Park.

Police say they responded to a call saying shots were fired in the park shortly after 8 p.m.

When they arrived, they say they saw LaMichael Taylor running through the park before hopping a fence onto Merrick Avenue.

When officers caught up to him, they said he had a semiautomatic Smith & Wesson on him.

Taylor is charged with criminal possession of a weapon in the second degree, criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree and reckless endangerment in the first degree.
