Police: Man arrested for fatally stabbing wife outside Lindenhurst home

Officers responded to a call of a stabbing outside a home on 14th Street around 8:30 p.m.

Police say a man has been arrested for fatally stabbing his wife in Lindenhurst on Wednesday night.
Officers responded to a call of a stabbing outside a home on 14th Street around 8:30 p.m.
Police say Ryszard Murawski stabbed his wife Wioleta Murawski outside their home.
Wioleta ran to a neighbor’s house for help with her 15-year-old son, according to police. The son and neighbor were able to tell a 911 operator what happened.
Wioleta, 38, was transported to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip, where she was pronounced dead.
Ryszard, 44, fled and crashed his vehicle into a building at New York and West Hoffman avenues in Lindenhurst.
He was arrested by patrol officers and transported to a hospital.
Charges are expected upon Murawski’s release from the hospital, police say.
