Police respond to crime call at East Flatbush neighborhood

Police say they responded to a call of a crime Saturday evening in East Flatbush.

NYPD detectives say it happened at 557 East 52nd Street shortly after 5 p.m.

Neighbors said they witnessed police who were wearing shields carry man carried out of his home.

A News 12 crew on the scene observed several police officers huddled outside of a home as well as flying drones overhead.

Police were seen carrying away a woman in handcuffs. It was not immediately clear why she was in handcuffs as of Saturday night.

Neighbors said they were not able to access their homes for several hours.

One neighbor said it appeared to have been a hostage situation.

Police had not confirmed if it had responded to a hostage situation as of Saturday night.
