Suffolk County police say they were called to Eastport South Manor Junior-Senior High School Wednesday for reports of inappropriate conduct by a staff member.
The incident comes just days after an off-duty police officer, who is also a school board member, left his weapon in a school bathroom.
The school said in a statement that read in part, "The district is currently investigating a matter involving an employee at the junior-senior high school." The statement went on to say there would be no further comment since it is a personnel matter.
A school board meeting is being held tonight. Stay with News 12 for further developments from the meeting.
At the beginning of Wednesday night’s Board of Education meeting, BOE President James Governali addressed the incident.
"I want the community to know that a complaint was made yesterday about an employee,” said Governali. “The employee was administratively reassigned off-campus yesterday morning as the district looks into this matter."
He went on to say the board cannot comment further on personnel matters.
