Police say a man was driving westbound just past 1 a.m. when he lost control between Exits 56 and 57, hit the center median and veered across the road into the woods.

A passenger in a car suffered minor injuries following a single-car crash Sunday morning on the Long Island Expressway.
Police say a man was driving westbound just past 1 a.m. when he lost control between Exits 56 and 57, hit the center median and veered across the road into the woods.
The vehicle hit a tree and caught fire. However, authorities say the driver and the passenger were able to quickly exit the vehicle.
