Police: Pedestrian seriously injured in Shirley crash

Espada, of Shirley, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. The 43-year-old driver was not injured.

A crash in Shirley has left a pedestrian seriously injured, police say.
Police say a Hyundai traveling northbound on the William Floyd Parkway just before 10 p.m. Monday struck Joseph Espada, 19, who was crossing the street.
Espada, of Shirley, was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries. The 43-year-old driver was not injured.
Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Seventh Squad at 631-852-8752.
