Police: Nassau officer assaulted by Oceanside man in Westbury

A Nassau County police officer was assaulted Monday in Westbury, police say.
Officials are now searching for 21-year-old Vincent Fredericks, of Oceanside.
Police say Fredericks also stole a car and fled from officers. He is also wanted for allegedly stealing gas and tip jars from at least 11 businesses in Nassau County.
They say he may during be driving a black BMW. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
