A Massapequa man is expected in court today for allegedly assaulting a Nassau County police officer.

Police responded to a call Saturday for a disturbance at Taco Joe’s on Merrick Road.

When officers arrived, they say 40-year-old George Moore hit an officer, who was trying to take him into custody, in the face.

The officer sustained swelling in his face and arm.

The suspect has been charged with assault and resisting arrest.
