Two people were tied up and held at gunpoint during an attempted robbery Friday night at a Freeport home, police say.
Police say the masked men both pointed guns at a 31-year-old man outside his home on Casino Street and told him to go inside.
According to Lt. Richard LeBrun, the armed men then tied him up, along with a female occupant that was inside the home. They then demanded to know where money was kept.
Police say as the two robbers were searching the house, a third person came home, saw what was going on, and ran to call for help. The would-be robbers then fled without taking any valuables.
They have not been apprehended.
Police are asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS.
