A Queens man is due back in court Wednesday for allegedly hitting a man in Elmont and then driving away.
Police say Ibrahim Elfiqi, 20, was driving a tow truck down Linden Boulevard Sunday when he hit a 65-year-old man crossing the road.
The victim's leg was severed below the knee. He is listed in a critical but stable condition.
Elfiqi says he left because he had to drop off a car at a body shop but says he did call 911.
He was pulled over and arrested while driving back.
