Police say a man was killed in a single-car crash on the Long Island Expressway Saturday morning.

Police say a man was killed in a single-car crash on the Long Island Expressway Saturday morning.
It happened around 6 a.m. in Melville. Police say 47-year-old Jhonny Barros-Chauca, of Bay Shore, was heading east on the expressway when he lost control of his Honda CR-V. The vehicle struck a cement pillar at Half Hollow Road.
Barros-Chauca was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police say the vehicle was impounded for a safety check. They are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Second Squad at 631-854-8252.
