A Queens man accused of crashing a stolen vehicle and hurting an officer Friday night in Valley Stream is facing multiple charges, according to police.
Authorities say officers responded to a report about a car stopped in the middle of the roadway outside Green Acres Mall.
Upon arrival, they found 30-year-old Jeffrey Cabreja behind the wheel unconscious.
He abruptly stepped on the gas when police tried to render aid and then hit another vehicle.
The impact caused his car to flip over, leading officers to extricate him and bring him to a hospital.
Authorities say one officer also sustained a shoulder injury and had to be hospitalized.
Cabreja was charged with driving while ability impaired, criminal possession of a controlled substance and assault.
