Police: Hampton Bays man arrested for committing lewd act near movie theater
2ds agoPolice have arrested a man in connection to a bank robbery attempt in East Meadow.
The incident happened around 1:30 p.m. Saturday.
Police say Mathew Matteo, 28, went into the Chase Bank on Hempstead Turnpike and gave the teller a note demanding money.
A staff member was able to pull a silent alarm and notify police.
The Lynbrook man is charged with attempted robbery and is expected to be arraigned today.
