A Queens man has been arrested for beating a woman in North Lawrence and then stealing her purse and phone, according to police.

Police tell News 12 they were called to the Five Towns Shopping Center on Rockaway Turnpike Tuesday for a domestic dispute.

Police say Ronald Bellamy got into a fight with the 24-year-old victim.

The fight turned physical when Bellamy hit the woman in the face, forcefully grabbed her phone and purse and ran off, police say.

Bellamy was arrested shortly after and officers learned he had violated two active orders of protection.

Bellamy is facing multiple charges.
