Live-in caretaker accused of abusing elderly man

A Peconic man was charged with Driving While Intoxicated following a crash on Saturday afternoon, according to authorities.

Police say Esbin A. Ardon Lopez, 38, was involved in an accident at the intersection of Route 25 and New Suffolk Road.

Lopez left the scene of the crash before police arrived. Officers who found him say he was drunk and placed him under arrest.
