A Westhampton Beach man is accused of driving drunk and crashing into a home.

It happened early this morning on Silver Road in Mastic Beach, according to police. Homeowner Jeanne Ruland says she was sleeping when the driver, identified as Israel Hernandez, plowed into her home and her truck.

Ruland says Hernandez had three passengers in the car with him when he hit her home. She says he got out of his car after the crash and was spotted with a beer in his hand before he hopped back in his car and took off. Police caught up to him a short time later.

A neighbor translated for the driver from Spanish. He claimed he was using a GPS device and didn't notice the road had ended.

Hernandez, 21, was arraigned on DWI charges today in Central Islip.
