Police: Man accused of 1989 Danbury abduction and rape arrested for similar incident

Back in October, Coffey was arrested for the initial April 1989 incident. Police say during the investigation for that crime, they discovered there was a second victim.

A man previously charged in the 1989 abduction and rape of a Danbury woman has been arrested again for a similar incident, police say.

David Coffey is accused of abducting and sexual assaulting a woman in January 1989, according to authorities.

Back in October, Coffey was arrested for the initial April 1989 incident.

Police say during the investigation for that crime, they discovered there was a second victim.

Coffey was arrested Wednesday for the January incident.

He was charged kidnapping and is being held on $750,000 bond.

In a statement, police say they remain committed to seeking justice for all victims, regardless of how much time has passed.
