Police: Lindenhurst man charged in fatal North Woodmere DWI crash

Police say 26-year-old Aaron Cooper was drunk when he lost control and flipped his car around 4 a.m. on Rosedale Road near the intersection of Lawrence Court.

A Lindenhurst man is facing DWI charges for an early Saturday morning crash that killed his 22-year-old passenger in North Woodmere.
Police say 26-year-old Aaron Cooper was drunk when he lost control and flipped his car around 4 a.m. on Rosedale Road near the intersection of Lawrence Court.
Cooper's passenger was pronounced dead at the scene.
PSEG crews told News 12 Saturday afternoon that the crash took down a pole that they had to repair.
Cooper was charged with manslaughter in the second degree, vehicular manslaughter in the second degree, assault in the second degree, driving while intoxicated and reckless driving.
Police say Cooper was taken to the hospital. He will be arraigned when it's medically practical.
The passenger had not been identified as of Saturday night.
