Nassau police say a woman was fatally stabbed overnight outside of a restaurant in West Hempstead.
Detectives say officers responded to a 911 call for a stabbing in the rear of La Candela Restaurant on Hempstead Turnpike just after midnight.
The officers found the 52-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds and a 50-year-old man with a laceration on his hand, according to police.
News 12 Reporter Emily Drooby's early Sunday evening report on the police investigation in West Hempstead.
Both were taken to the hospital where the woman was later pronounced dead shotly before 4 a.m.
The man was treated and released.
It was not immediately clear what led to the stabbing or if there were any arrests made as of Sunday evening.
