An Oceanside man is facing assault charges after allegedly attacking his mother's boyfriend with a knife.
Police say the victim told 28-year-old Jimmy Godsey not to enter his mother's bedroom just before 1 a.m.
An argument ensued which ended with Godsey cutting the 60-year-old man in the neck.
Godsey fled on foot, but surrendered a short time later when police arrived.
The victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
