Investigators have identified the woman killed in a Syosset train crash Wednesday as 60-year-old Maddy Mintz.
Police believe Mintz accidentally turned her car onto the tracks at Robbins Lane, thinking it was a street. A Port Jefferson-bound Long Island Rail Road train struck Mintz's car shortly afterwards, causing a fire that killed the widowed grandmother. No injuries were reported among train passengers.
Funeral services for Mintz are scheduled for Sunday in Dix Hills.
