A family is remembering a Bronx man after police said he was fatally shot on Sunday in Fordham.
Police said 57-year-old Kevin Jennings was an innocent bystander when he was shot in the head around 7 p.m. on East 188th Street near Webster Avenue.
One witness told News 12 she heard six or seven gunshots.
Jennings’ niece, who asked not to be identified, told News 12 that her uncle had friends in the area and would often come visit them - but the family had no idea how things took a turn for the worse.
The victim’s niece said she just spoke to Jennings two weeks ago. She called her uncle a good man and generous person.
“He’s like the innocent person,” the niece said. “He’s like a big teddy bear. He’s the most quietest person. If he had it, he’ll give it to you. He always comes to every family function that we have.”
Police said a 34-year-old woman was also shot on Sunday evening. She suffered a gunshot wound to the leg and is in stable condition.
