Police: Homeless man dies in fire by homicide in Milford

Milford police say the death of a homeless man who was encamped behind a Lowe's on Old Gate Lane is being investigated as a homicide.

Milford police say the death of a homeless man who was encamped behind a Lowe's on Old Gate Lane is being investigated as a homicide.

Joseph Kane, 57, was found dead after a blaze broke out in a wooded area near Old Gate Lane, according to police.

Kane's cause of death was smoke inhalation and thermal injuries, according to officials.

Police say the fire was possibly connected toa breach-of-peace 911 call.

Witness say they saw someone start the fire.
