Police responded to a home invasion in Mastic Beach early this morning.

According to police, two burglars broke into the home on Alder Drive.

A person inside the home at the time chased them away, but the suspects fired a gunshot as they took off, officials say.

So far there are no arrests and no injuries were reported.
