A Freeport woman is accused in a phone scam that targeted a woman in Indiana.
Police say the victim got a call from someone claiming to be her grandson, saying he'd been arrested for DWI.
They say the victim was then given a phone number for a fake attorney, who requested thousands of dollars in bail money.
The victim sent $2,800 and was then called for more money. She called police in Indiana, who contacted Freeport police.
Detectives then arranged for another payment to be delivered to a home on Westend Avenue in Freeport. Liany Torres, 21, was arrested at the home.
